  • Your voice, your journey

When people think of “voice lessons,” they often have a pre-conceived idea of becoming the next Beyoncé or some kind of rigid classical training. However, these represent only a tiny fraction of what vocal training is actually about, and the deeper you go into your journey of discovering your voice, the further you might actually find yourself from such desires…

Your voice is your most personal instrument. It is your sonic fingerprint. It is the primary way you connect with the world around you.

Vocal training shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. It is a journey that changes depending on where you want to go. Whether the goal is to command a boardroom with your speaking voice, drop jaws at karaoke night, or build a sustainable career as an independent artist, the journey starts with simply understanding your instrument.

Here is how unlocking your voice can transform your life, no matter the destination.

    1. The Power of Presence: Speaking with Confidence

You don’t have to sing a single note to benefit from understanding your voice. In our daily lives, how we say something is often just as important as what we say.

Have you ever felt your throat tighten before a presentation? Have you ever felt like your voice “disappears” in a loud room, or that people constantly ask you to repeat yourself?

Vocal technique is the antidote to these frustrations. By learning proper breath support, resonance, and articulation, you unlock a speaking voice that is clear and commanding. This is about more than just volume; it’s about presence.

    • For the Professional: It means projecting without strain during long meetings or public speeches.
    • For Social Situations: It offers the confidence to speak up and be heard in any environment.
    • For Well-being: It allows you to use your voice all day without ending up hoarse or fatigued.

    2. The Joy of Sound: Singing for the Soul

Music is, first and foremost, meant to be enjoyed. You do not need to aspire to a Grammy Award to deserve to understand how your voice works.

For many, singing is a form of therapy. It releases endorphins, reduces stress, and allows for emotional release. However, nothing ruins that therapeutic release faster than the physical frustration of not being able to hit a note or feeling your voice crack.

There is immense value in training simply to be better at a hobby you love. Whether it’s feeling confident enough to pick up the microphone at a karaoke bar, joining a community choir, or jamming with friends in a garage band on weekends.

Mastering the fundamentals allows you to:

    • Sing your favorite songs without strain.
    • Expand your range so you aren’t limited in your song choices.
    • Find the pure joy in making music, free from judgment or pressure.

    3. The Modern Artist: Independence and Authenticity

For those who do dream of a career in music, the landscape has changed. The old fairytale of being “discovered” by a label executive in a smokey bar or winning a televised talent show is not a business plan – it’s a lottery ticket. And far too often, those paths lead to predatory contracts that strip artists of their creative control.

Today’s successful artist is an entrepreneur. To succeed in the fast-evolving music business, you need two things: a distinct identity and independence.

Finding Your Unique Voice The goal shouldn’t be to sound like everyone else on the radio; the goal is to strip away bad habits to reveal your unique timbre. It is about deep emotional expression – learning how to tell a story so compelling that the audience hangs on every word. That is what separates a “good singer” from a true “artist.”

Building Your Own Empire Beyond the voice, the modern music industry requires you to navigate the path on your own terms. Being an independent artist means acting as the CEO of your career. It means understanding how to market yourself, be your own manager, booking agent and musical director. It means owning your masters, understanding your brand, and building a loyal fanbase without waiting for a “gatekeeper” to give you permission.

It requires developing the resilience for the hustle and vocal stamina, ensuring that when you step on stage—be it a local club or a livestream—you are undeniably ready.

    Start Your Journey

Whether you want to speak with authority, sing for the sheer love of it, or carve out a career as an independent artist, the path remains the same: it starts with a decision to invest in yourself, and I’m ready to be your shotgun rider – get in touch to start now!

  • Willkommen/Welcome!

Hi, I’m Mery and welcome to my new site! I arrived to Planegg at the end of April 2025. I am a singing teacher and artist and I’m excited to announce that I will be moving my teaching business from Trieste, Italy, to Germany.

Existing students from Italy will be continuing lessons online and anyone who wishes to do lessons in person is welcome to come to my studio which is just a 7 minute walk from the Planegg railway station (accessible by the S6).

    I will offer one-off one-to-one lessons, as well as a pay-monthly package with a 12 month contract.

My students range from hobbyists and aspiring professionals, to performing artists who wish to have a coach that follows them closely to ensure consistent progress and have help in maintaining optimal vocal health.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and soon you’ll find this website in German too; please note, however, that is strongly encouraged that you do lessons in English due to the utmost importance of being able to sing at a high level in English, and to be able to communicate professionally, whether singing your favourite top 40 songs for fun or aspiring to perform/record for an international market 🙂
